The Android test build

For friends and family who were sent this link. It is not in the Play Store yet.

Download

Any phone from the last several years. 40 MB.

An older phone that says the app is not compatible needs the 32-bit build (30 MB, SHA-256 0f97e63c9200c5017b3f72d334c70fd53a366b5e3b68e43d017ad1bab17dae6c).

Installing it

  1. Open the download on the phone. Android asks whether your browser may install apps: allow it for this one install, then you can switch it off again.
  2. Open Windpost. It asks you to confirm you are 18 or older, then makes its identity on the phone; there is no phone number, email or password.
  3. Allow notifications when it asks, so a message or a call can reach you while the app is shut.
  4. Add the person who invited you with the code or link you were sent.

Before you start, read what testers agree to — seven short points.

Worth knowing

Uninstalling is starting over, unless you set up a recovery code or family recovery first (in the app's menu). Your identity and your history live on the phone; without a backup, removing the app loses them, and each contact has to be added again. Updates installed over the top keep everything.
